Neurobiology Tenure Track Faculty Position Employer: Pennsylvania State University Location: State College, Pennsylvania Closing date: October 18, 2025 Position Details

The Department of Biology at Penn State, University Park campus, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The search is open to any area of neuroscience. Areas of particular interest include cellular, molecular, systems, computational, or other emerging areas of neuroscience. The successful applicant is expected to develop an independent, interdisciplinary, externally funded research program that leads to novel insights into the function of the nervous system at the molecular, cellular, and/or circuit levels. We remain flexible in our direction forward and encourage excellent candidates in all areas of neurobiology to apply. The anticipated starting date is Summer or Fall 2026. Responsibilities

Conduct an independent, externally funded research program. Teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Supervise student research and mentor students. Provide service to the university and the broader professional community. Qualifications

PhD in Neurobiology, Biology, Physiology, or a related field prior to employment at Penn State. Potential for developing an externally funded and collaborative research program. Ability to contribute to teaching and service missions. For the rank of Associate Professor, a strong record of scholarly achievement, external funding, and demonstrated teaching/service excellence. Curriculum vitae with a list of publications. Two statements: Research accomplishments, plans, and vision (up to 3 pages, including figures and references).
