Cordova Plant The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As an

Environmental Engineer , you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by developing and implementing environmental programs/practices aimed to mitigate hazards and ensure compliance within the Cordova site, additionally: Assessing and evaluating operational changes to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards, establishing programs and procedures to maintain compliance. Leading permitting activities and sustaining compliance, preparing accurate and timely environmental reports for regulatory agencies. Interpreting, implementing, and coordinating regulatory compliance rhythms to ensure completion of reporting and recording for applicable Federal, State, and Local Environmental Permits, regulations, and programs. Analyzing environmental data and self-assessments, communicating findings and recommendations to operational leadership for correction of gaps. Developing and executing environmental standards and projects aimed at improving business processes and reducing environmental impact, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. Utilizing communication and presentation skills to educate stakeholders on environmental requirements and best practices, coordinating environmental sampling and data collection to support compliance and project initiatives. Providing environmental on-call support. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start) Three (3) years of combined experience with environmental compliance and/or environmental reporting in a private, public, government or military environment Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Five (5) or more years of combined experience with environmental compliance and/or environmental reporting in a private, public, government or military environment Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related discipline from an accredited institution Experience in environmental program administration [e.g. CAAPP/Title V, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), incident investigation, and/or risk management] Experience in Project Management, Continuous Improvement, Procedure Development and Training, and Technical Writing (for SWPPP or SPCC plans or similar) Experience interacting with Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies Proficiency with various corporate reporting/compliance and other software tools as well as basic engineering calculations EIT (FE) Completion Location: Cordova, IL This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Chemical Operations manufacturing plant in Cordova, IL. Travel: May include up to 10% domestic travel Relocation: May be authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
