Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform proposed studies for NIH-funded projects or develop new research in the field of neurodegeneration including Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease in the lab. Conduct a wide variety of research experiments and procedures (neurobiochemistry, neuroimmunology, molecular neurobiology, single cell RNA sequencing, lipidomic analysis, et al.) with others or independently. Collect and analyze data; maintain and organize research data in computer, report and present experimental findings to the PI and at scientific meetings. Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification In Position: Ph.D. in Cell or Molecular Neurobiology, or related disciplines. High self-motivation to learn new technologies and achieve scientific goals. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies:
Knowledge of and experience in neurobiochemistry, neuroimmunology, molecular neurobiology, single cell RNA sequencing, lipidomic analysis or other research techniques related to projects in the lab. Experience in writing abstracts & scientific manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication. Ability and experience in performing analysis of experimental data. Ability to prepare progress reports and make presentations. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with faculty, staff, students and customers. Physical Demands: Lift up to 30 pounds. Dealing with occasionally stressful situations. Manual dexterity to work with small, delicate pieces of equipment.
