Overview
The Department of Geology and Geography at Mount Holyoke College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Earth Science, to begin July 1, 2026. We are searching for a geoscientist whose research interests are in the earth, ocean, atmospheric, or polar sciences or in geoscience education. Responsibilities
Teach a 2/2 load, including an intermediate-level undergraduate course on Weather and Atmospheric Science, in addition to general education and upper-level courses. Demonstrate a commitment to accessible and inclusive pedagogy. Mentor students who are broadly diverse with regard to race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, and religion. Pursue scholarly contributions in research with potential for outstanding impact. Qualifications
Ph.D. required or ABD (all but dissertation). Experience mentoring diverse student populations; commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Application information
