Harold Washington College is currently seeking an Adjunct Faculty member to teach
ARCHITECTURE
during the Spring Semester. If you are passionate about teaching and learning, and committed to the community college mission, consider joining our team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in developing and using effective teaching strategies that meet students’ diverse needs, engaging them in critical thinking and problem-solving.
Primary Responsibilities
Design courses to meet learning outcomes and promote active student participation.
Create an effective learning environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and problem-solving using discipline-specific thinking strategies.
Employ various assessments to ensure instruction leads to student learning and achievement of course outcomes.
Support students in reaching academic, personal, and career goals while fostering a respectful, diverse environment.
Contribute to and lead in students' academic and professional communities, promoting collaboration and teamwork.
Qualifications
Pursuant to the City Colleges of Chicago Credential Guidelines for 2016/17.
Master’s Degree.
Knowledge of Blackboard LMS preferred.
Excellent communication skills for engaging diverse staff and students.
Experience with diverse, multi-lingual student populations and commitment to open access mission preferred.
