Chicago Glaucoma Consultants is seeking a skilled and motivated Ophthalmic Technician/Scribe to support our ophthalmologists and optometrists in delivering exceptional patient care. Gather patient details and chief complaint Conduct preliminary eye exams, including visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and basic refraction Perform diagnostic tests such as OCT and visual field testing Administer eye medications under provider direction Assist with minor surgical procedures and laser treatments Accurately document patient data in electronic health records (EHR) Educate patients on eye care and medication usage Work closely with the clinical team to ensure efficient patient flow Enter details alongside the MD into EHR Qualifications
Preferred: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) Experience: At least 1 year in an ophthalmic setting is highly desirable Proficiency in diagnostic testing and ophthalmic equipment Knowledge of ocular anatomy, common eye diseases, and treatment protocols Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Willingness to train motivated candidates with a long-term commitment preferred Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent (required) Completion of an accredited ophthalmic technician program or a college degree is strongly desired Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment Flexible and adaptive to evolving clinic needs Reliable transportation to commute to Glenview, IL 60026 Benefits
