Preschool Lead Teacher — full-time, DuPage office, Preschool for All programs in Wheaton. Salary:

The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $55,000 and $57,000 annually. Salary placement based on skill and experience. Salary for 43-week programs will be pro-rated. Essential Job Functions

Support a team approach to planning and implementing program activities. Collaborate with Family Support Workers, Teachers, Program Aide, site partners, and site supervisor to benefit the classroom and families. Participate in ongoing CLASS implementation and monitoring. Guide and facilitate activities of the children; ensure appropriate child guidance, discipline, and proper ratios are maintained at all times. Attend all mandated trainings. Set and achieve professional development goals. Track all professional development in Gateways. Share resources with other staff members as appropriate. Use Teaching Strategies Gold to document school readiness skills and maintain interrater reliability. Use Teaching Strategies Gold to communicate with families through monthly newsletters and family conference forms. Implement the program’s Planned Language Approach to support dual language learners. Schedule and conduct education home visits to discuss development and progress; assist parents in developing educational goals for their child. Maintain accurate teacher and child files. Follow transportation safety procedures and utilize the bus attendance log if applicable. Complete CACFP documents in conjunction with teaching staff. Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, volunteers, and other staff. Work with the site supervisor and family support worker to exchange information relevant to identifying and servicing children with disabilities. Conduct or oversee screenings of all children within prescribed time frames using developmental, social-emotional, and other prescribed screening tools. Ensure the curriculum is used with fidelity; submit weekly lesson plans with individualization for all children, including accommodations listed in IEPs and IFSPs. Provide a supportive, caring, and safe environment for children. Use the playground as an extension of the classroom and ensure playground safety. Provide active supervision to ensure child safety during classroom time, transitions, transportation, and on the playground. Ensure agency technology equipment is used for agency business and adhere to the code of conduct and fiscal procedures. Assist in the development of the agency’s annual program self-assessment. Ensure program data is accurately reflected in the agency’s Program Information Reports within set time frames. Participate in program recruitment to maintain full enrollment. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Plan and implement learning experiences that advance intellectual and physical development, including literacy readiness and approaches to learning. Establish and maintain a safe, healthy learning environment for infants and toddlers. Support social and emotional development of children. Encourage family involvement in an Early Head Start program and foster relationships between children and families. Demonstrated ability to work in teams. Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a complex environment and with diverse individuals and groups. Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or education from an accredited college or university (required). Lead Teacher with children ages 3-5: PEL or Gateways ECE Level 5 Credential while working toward PEL required. Lead Teacher with children ages 0-3: Bachelor’s with Gateways IT Level 5 Credential required. Additional Requirements

Satisfactorily pass all screenings and criminal background checks. Transportation/Travel

Driving for work with a personal vehicle. Travel between sites required. Physical Demands

The role requires sitting and standing for extended periods, frequent talking and hearing, use of hands and fingers, and occasional bending, kneeling, stooping, or crouching.
