home page for more information. Position Summary: The College of Fine Arts Main Campus anticipates hiring Adjunct Faculty to teach in the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 semesters in the DEPARTMENT OF ART. Anticipated openings include the following subjects:
Art Education and Art Studio. Positions are contingent upon need each semester as determined by student enrollment levels, current course offering matrix, and demand driven by graduation requirements. Positions may be filled or eliminated each semester up to the deadline for students to drop or add courses. Candidates who are selected for these positions will report to Department Chair, Lee Montgomery. For best consideration, please apply by this date: May 01, 2025 for Fall semester 2025 November 01, 2025 for Spring semester 2026 Candidates will remain in the pooled position queue for the 25-26 academic year or until notified directly.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
To teach or develop courses in the field or subfield for which you are applying are determined by Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation requirements for faculty, and must be met by one of these ways: For Art Studio/ Art History: Master’s degree or
terminal degree
in the discipline or subfield. For Art Education: Master’s degree or terminal degree in art education or subfield of education or studio art. Successful minimum of 3-5 years of art teaching experience in pre-K 12th grade school settings. Preferred Qualifications: Successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution. For Art Education specifically, successful teaching experience in a post-secondary institution. Experience mentoring art education student teacher candidates. Flexible schedule and ability to travel to conduct student teacher observations. And/OR:
Experience teaching with new media/technology in Prek-12th grade art education classrooms. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
