Job Title: Professor or Associate Professor, 9 Month Salaried - Economics Location: Tallahassee, FL Regular/Temporary: Regular Full/Part Time: Full-Time Job ID: 59415 Department: Department of Economics - College of Social Sciences and Public Policy Responsibilities
Contribute to research and scholarship through high quality publications in top-tier venues. Teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels and service responsibilities. Standard teaching responsibilities consist of a 2/2 course load, with a standard three-course reduction for new hires. Expected to engage in The Florida Institute for Governance and Civics programming. Standard service responsibilities commensurate with rank. Qualifications
Ph.D. in Economics before the date of hire is expected. Evidence of the potential to produce internationally recognized research or have a strong track record of scholarship. Preferred Qualifications
Research that focuses on how economic, political, and legal institutions have influenced economic development, and whose work speaks to economic liberty and the political economy of a free society. Experience with public-facing civic/economic initiatives. Clear record of research activity equivalent to an associate professor or full professor (depending on rank being sought) at an R1 research university. Established record of successful teaching at the university level, commensurate with the rank being sought, and a demonstrated ability to teach and participate in the Department’s undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs.
