EIS Holdings, LLC . EIS is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager to champion the safety culture and programs for our regulated and safety-sensitive organization. As a top turnkey contractor for asbestos abatement, demolition, and environmental remediation in the Southeast, we need an experienced expert who is passionate about safety and compliance and has a track record for setting the standard in our industry.
Responsibilities
Understand and promote a Zero Injury approach to safety.
Direct, plan, implement, and supervise corporate and job-site safety programs.
Provide construction safety oversight for abatement, decontamination, renovation, remediation, hazard/regulated materials assessment and mitigation, demolition, and related projects.
Develop and execute health and safety plans in line with legal guidelines, state regulations, and OSHA requirements.
Conduct detailed site safety and health inspections, identify hazards, and evaluate job sites for risks not adequately controlled.
Train field staff on construction hazards (fall prevention, PPE, equipment conditions, etc.) and manage DOT requirements.
Implement company-wide loss-control strategies and programs; create site-specific safety policies and plans.
Travel to job sites and office locations for walk-throughs, training, and employee development.
Manage and direct the business unit's safety committee and support project managers and site supervisors with program implementation.
Present safety topics to employees, supervisors, and management; conduct job reviews to ensure program adoption and follow-up on safety concerns.
Investigate incidents and prepare all related paperwork for workers’ compensation and OSHA; manage injury case tracking with a return-to-work focus.
Act as Incident Commander during emergencies and be reachable 24/7.
Ensure incidents are properly reported to internal and external parties and maintain safety records (training and company files).
Travel 50% - 75% of the time.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or six years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum four years of experience managing a safety program in the construction industry.
Experience with regulated materials including asbestos and lead.
Knowledge of OSHA and state regulations; OSHA 500 required.
DOT and FMCSA compliance knowledge required; workers’ compensation case management knowledge preferred.
HAZWOPER 40/8 hours and Asbestos Abatement 40/8 hours training certifications preferred.
Strong communication skills, ability to train and speak to groups, and collaboration with teams.
Proficiency with MS Office; ISNetworld/Avetta knowledge preferred.
Current OSHA/environmental regulation knowledge and broad knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations.
Ability to work independently, show initiative, and manage multiple priorities; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Valid driver’s license and clean MVR; U.S. citizen or permanent resident status required.
