The Department of Emergency Medicine at the Larner College of Medicine (LCOM) at The University of Vermont (UVM) is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician desiring a career in academic emergency medicine. Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in the Clinical Scholar Pathway will be commensurate with years of experience and accomplishments. About the Network

Our Network Department of Emergency Medicine provides clinical coverage at hospital sites across the University of Vermont Health Network (UVMHN) in Vermont and upstate New York. We serve approximately 200,000 patient visits annually. LCOM students and Emergency Medicine residents train clinically at Network sites with elective rotations at additional locations. The primary teaching campus is the University of Vermont Medical Center, the region’s Level 1 trauma center. Our department supports initiatives in emergency medicine sub‑specialties and related programs across sites, including rural and critical access settings. Responsibilities

Provide clinical coverage at multiple Network sites, including UVMMC and rural/critical access facilities. Direct education and supervision of LCOM medical students, EM residents, and other learners. Participate in the academic, educational, and scholarly missions of LCOM and the UVM Health Network. Engage in teaching, research, and clinical activities in academic emergency medicine; experience in rural care delivery and/or critical access emergency departments is valued. Contribute to subspecialty programs (EMS, pediatric emergency medicine, critical care, ultrasound, research, global health, simulation, toxicology) as part of a network-wide effort. Qualifications

Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM); eligible for licensure in New York and Vermont. Strong preference for candidates with teaching, research, and clinical activity in academic emergency medicine; experience in rural care delivery and/or critical access hospital EDs is advantageous.
