Overview
Substance Addiction Counselor - CAC, CAADC, CADC Full-Time position with VitalCore Health Strategies (VCHS) in correctional health care. Travel between Framingham, MA and Norfolk, MA is required. The role involves working with a multidisciplinary team to provide substance use treatment in a face-to-face setting for justice-involved individuals. Responsibilities
Provide crisis stabilization, complete intakes and ongoing evaluations, and offer consultation to in-house and community services. Assess individuals’ functioning, strengths, and weaknesses related to primary substance use diagnoses. Orient individuals to treatment processes and program goals. Deliver and reinforce evidence-based treatment curricula. Develop treatment and discharge plans in collaboration with Qualified Behavioral Health Professionals. Perform individual and group therapeutic interventions as appropriate. Deliver and score/interprete pre- and post-tests, including post-program surveys as indicated. Maintain confidentiality and provide timely documentation, records, and reports. Educate individuals on the effects of substance use on physical, social, and emotional life. Participate in monthly behavioral health calls and collaborate with the medical team to determine overall treatment for each individual. Collaborate with other professionals on treatment or discharge planning, including aftercare programs and community resources. Conduct risk assessments and coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams including medical staff, community providers, psychiatric hospitals, and corrections; assist with discharge planning. Contribute to planning and implementing program goals and objectives; ensure necessary documentation is prepared and maintained. Utilize clinical skills effectively and maintain timely documentation. Make independent clinical decisions within scope of practice as required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field. Minimum of 2 years in a clinician/counselor/social work role in a public or private agency (preferred). Substance use certification (e.g., CAC, CADC, CAADC, LADC). Must pass a satisfactory background investigation. Job Details
