Develop and formulate new products in the broad fields of organic, inorganic, and hybrid materials with various applications. Interact closely with other scientists to develop comprehensive solutions. Maintain excellent laboratory records and write reports and research summaries as required. Participate in intellectual property creation related to catalyst design and related polymerization methods. Work in a fast-paced environment to support team and corporate objectives. Qualifications
Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field; >5 years of industrial R&D experience. Strong background in inorganic, organic, or organometallic chemistry; in-depth knowledge of catalysis mechanisms and control of polymer structure via rational catalyst design. Strong polymer synthesis background preferred, including ATRP, anionic, cationic, condensation, and free radical polymerization; deep knowledge of structure-property relationships and materials properties. Monomer synthesis experience is preferred. Renewable materials, biobased building blocks, and biomass-related experience are pluses. Chemically recyclable polymers experience is a plus. Experience in developing and formulating products across organic, inorganic, and hybrid materials; ability to meet broad application needs. Awareness of chemical safety and ability to handle air-, light-, or moisture-sensitive materials. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet aggressive timelines; strong problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred: experience developing new synthetic strategies for polymers of defined structure and polymerization process knowledge. Physical and Work Environment
Office/Lab environment with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. Standard duties may involve standing, walking, or sitting, and using a computer; certain vision requirements apply. Compensation and Benefits
