As a User Experience Researcher (UXR), you’ll help your team of UXers, product managers, and engineers understand user needs and impact product development. You’ll conduct primary research to explore user behaviors and motivations, including field studies, interviews, diary studies, participatory workshops, ethnography, surveys, usability testing, and logs analysis. You’ll work with stakeholders across functions and levels to create useful, usable, and delightful products. The UXR community at Google offers opportunities to collaborate with UXRs across Google through meetups, mentor programs, and internal research tools. Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 6 years of experience in product research in an applied research setting, or similar. Experience in survey design and analysis (e.g., sampling, weighting surveys answers, writing questionnaires, pre-testing question wording, or longitudinal survey research program). Experience in programming languages used for data manipulation and computational statistics (e.g., Python, R, MATLAB, C++, Java, or Go). Preferred qualifications

Master's or PhD degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or related field. 5 years of experience conducting UX research on products and working with executive leadership (e.g., Director level and above). 3 years of experience managing projects, and working in a large, matrixed organization. Experience with experimental design, scale development and validation, and unmoderated studies. Experience using LLMs to code qualitative data. Ability to communicate user research findings with cross-functional partners to drive impact. About the job

Conduct independent research on multiple aspects of products and experiences. Collect and analyze user behavior through surveys using techniques such as questionnaire design, psychometrics, sampling, mitigating non-response bias, data weighting and imputation, user segmentation, and longitudinal research. Prioritize research opportunities with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers and other UXRs in a fast-paced environment. Incorporate technical and business requirements into research. Combine survey research with other data sources or research methods and communicate findings through written reports and presentations. Compensation

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $151,000-$222,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay influenced by location and other factors.
