We seek a motivated EHS professional to lead and support environmental, health, and safety management and ensure compliance with regulations. Your Role As the Senior Specialist - Environmental, Health & Safety, you will lead and support EHS management in the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs and policies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. This person also facilitates the investigation and timely identification of incident root cause and corrective action and actively supports injury prevention initiatives. What You\'ll Be Doing Monitor the workplace environment by analyzing work processes, materials, equipment and the work habits of employees and ensure appropriate corrective action is taken where hazards exist. Develop and oversee EHS training programs for employees in areas such as employee-right-to-know, hazardous material handling, laser safety, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety. Plan and schedule work to meet deadlines, work independently, and use data analysis to design solutions to health and safety problems. Perform traditional EHS duties such as job safety analyses, health and safety training, workplace incident investigations, workplace safety inspections and internal audits. Manage hazardous material and hazardous waste activities in compliance with regulations. Review new hazardous materials and check incoming materials for SDSs, usage and storage characteristics; provide guidance and support the EHS Manager in waste activities and SDS data system management. Support facility reviews for modification, product development, product modification and new equipment. Provide on-call EHS emergency support and lead maintenance of the facility’s Emergency Action Plans. Serve as a resource on occupational health and safety, environmental compliance, fire protection and loss prevention. Coordinate with regulatory agencies and contribute input to regulators through industry groups as directed. Apply health and safety principles to solve day-to-day problems and develop practical solutions. Coordinate employee exposure monitoring activities for chemical and physical agents, manage IH sampling and support related contractors as required. Conduct ergonomic risk assessments and recommend corrective actions. Lead the selection, training and maintenance of Lab Safety Coordinators as needed. Coordinate inspection and procurement of emergency response and disaster preparedness materials and equipment. Support data gathering for EHS metrics and facilitate Safety Committee and Emergency Response Committee meetings. Support Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements as identified by management. Comply with FDA regulations, other regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures; maintain positive communications with employees, customers, contractors and vendors. What You\'ll Bring Bachelor\'s degree in Environmental Science, Health, Safety, or Engineering, or related field. Minimum 5 years in Health and Safety with hands-on and program management experience. Ability to navigate and interpret EHS regulations and function with little direction to drive complex projects to completion. Ability to manage multiple projects and daily responsibilities; strong teamwork and independent contribution in a fast-paced environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills across multiple levels of the organization. Multitasking, prioritization and meeting deadlines with attention to detail. Nice To Have Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries. Experience working with R&D teams and in a broader enterprise/cross-division model.
