Grand Canyon University . Grand Canyon University is a regionally accredited, private, nondenominational Christian University located in Phoenix, Arizona. This is a full-time Chemistry Faculty position in the College of Natural Sciences, with a teaching-focused mission. The college offers programs in Biology, Forensic Science, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Environmental Chemistry, and Exercise Science. This is a permanent 9-month position that starts in August 2025, with supplemental teaching opportunities available in the summer. The Chemistry Faculty member will normally teach 4-5 undergraduate sections per term, and provide student support and service to the College and University. This role will teach Introductory and General Chemistry, with opportunities to teach advanced chemistry topics (e.g., Organic, Physical, Analytical, Instrumental, Inorganic, Environmental, Pharmacology, Biochemistry). Attach a complete CV and a 1-3 page Teaching Statement. The Teaching Statement must include a brief summary of the coursework you are prepared to teach, your experience with such, and a description of your experience and vision regarding the teaching and mentorship of students from diverse backgrounds. Location: Main Campus, 33rd and Camelback. What You Will Do Teaching courses within the major. Assisting students outside classroom hours. Staying current on topics and practices related to the discipline. Participation in curriculum design & development. Active support of college/university mission and initiatives. Active participation on college and/or university committees. Assisting the Dean in developing internal and external communities that promote the major field of study, college, and University. Providing leadership to adjunct faculty. Active engagement in professional development activities. Compliance with all college and University policies. What You Need Master's degree or Ph.D. in Chemistry, or closely-related field. One year of instructional experience at the post-secondary level. Familiarity with web enhanced instructional tools such as Angel/Blackboard/Loudcloud/Halo. Ability to articulate a clear understanding of values-based education from a Christian perspective. Strong communication, time management and organizational skills. Demonstrated teamwork, self-motivation, integrity, and commitment to maintaining high professional standards.
