Overview The Manager on Duty will ensure smooth operation of the Front Office and direct all activities of the Rooms Division in the absence of upper management. They will maintain Forbes Five-Star standards across guest service areas and report to the Front Office Manager.

Responsibilities

Monitor and coach standards in all guest services positions in the Rooms Division (Front Desk, Concierge) to deliver the best possible service.

Maintain a healthy work environment and administer staff processes, including Kronos Payroll cycles and submitting Tip/Commission reports to payroll on schedule.

Address guest-related issues and emergencies, keeping the General Manager and Hotel Manager informed of comments and complaints.

Assist Front Desk Manager with staff training as needed.

Relieve Concierge and Front Desk for breaks to ensure continuous service.

Attend divisional meetings when upper management is unavailable.

Assist with supervisory responsibilities, including progressive discipline, performance evaluations, and termination.

Participate in emergency and security procedures as directed by management.

Complete tasks and projects delegated by the manager and assist other departments as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education & Experience Requirements

College degree preferred

Previous hotel experience in Front Office operations required; Supervisory experience preferred

Ability to communicate in English and Spanish preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and industry trends

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; desire to learn and grow in hospitality

Problem-solving mindset with a passion for guest experiences

Ability to influence and serve as a role model

Compliance with Hotel Operations and Food & Beverage policies

Ability to lead diverse teams and maintain a positive work environment

Ability to assist in emergency and security procedures

Professional, team-oriented attitude and adaptability to changes in processes and workload

Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays according to scheduling needs

Work Environment & Physical Demands

Ability to stand, walk, or be on your feet for extended periods; kneeling and bending may be required

Regular indoor work with no adverse conditions

Occasional ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
