Our Technical Operations team is full of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, ground equipment and facilities professionals, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well taken care of and ready to get our customers to their desired destinations. We’re looking for a full-time Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) who has valid Airframe & Powerplant certification to join our Technical Operations team in one of United’s domestic HUBS. In this vital role, you will provide service and maintenance for aircraft systems, Powerplant, Airframe and Components. You’ll handle a wide variety of duties that make every day different, including inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, parts replacement and repair, as well as routine maintenance. Responsibilities
Strong mechanical competence and attention to detail are crucial for this critical position. Work on larger, highly sophisticated aircraft with United. Collaborate professionally and seamlessly with your co-workers as a great teammate. Work outdoors in various weather conditions as needed. Hands-on work and willingness to roll up your sleeves. Growth and Opportunities
Initial training, specialty classes and recurrent training in technical areas and on topics such as ethics and compliance. Potential to move into roles including management, inspection, quality control, fleet planning and others with experience and drive. Opportunity to transfer to other locations within United’s network after gaining seniority. Flexibility and Dependability
Union position based on seniority; initial schedule designed to meet airport needs. Available for any shift within a 24/7 operation, including weekends and holidays. May be required to work mandatory overtime when necessary. Punctuality and reliability are essential. Compensation and Benefits
Starting rate: $38.90 per hour. Bonus eligible position (profit sharing). Benefits: medical, dental, vision, life, disability, employee assistance program, commuter, paid holidays, paid time off, 401(k), pension and flight privileges (subject to applicable collective bargaining agreement). Qualifications
Minimum qualifications: High School Diploma or GED/Educational Equivalent FAA A&P License Valid US Driver's License Computer literacy Must pass a background check and drug screen upon contingent job offer Eagerness to learn and willingness to train Ability to access elevated aircraft areas via ladders, lift trucks, boom lifts and other devices Ability to lift 50 pounds, physical flexibility and the ability to work in confined spaces Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship The starting rate for this role is $38.90. This is also a bonus-eligible position (i.e. profit sharing).
