Overview Assistant/Associate or Professor of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery (Tenure Track) at USC CERPP (Center for Enrollment Research, Policy and Practice). The successful candidate will join the Keck School of Medicine Faculty in Los Angeles, California, and the USC Caruso Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. The primary criterion for appointment is a demonstrated commitment to research and teaching. Faculty rank will be determined by qualifications and experience. A PhD or MD degree is required.

Responsibilities

Develop and lead a strong program in auditory and/or vestibular research with a focus on central or peripheral sensory system development and/or regeneration.

Engage in quantitative molecular biology approaches (e.g., single-cell multiomics, proteomics, gene editing) and potentially utilize diverse model systems (e.g., organoids, non-mammalian models).

Publish and obtain funding to demonstrate an impactful research trajectory.

Be an active member of a collaborative department, interact with graduate students, post-docs, residents, other PIs, and clinicians.

Educate trainees and, for senior appointments, mentor junior faculty.

Collaborate with USC faculty and affiliated training programs to support graduate students, post-docs, and medical students/residents with a strong interest in research.

Qualifications

PhD or MD degree required.

Track record of impactful research evidenced by publications and funding history.

Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in service, teaching, and research; able to articulate past contributions and future goals.

Ability to interact productively with colleagues from diverse backgrounds and with trainees at multiple levels.

Location and Collaboration Colaboration opportunities with USC faculty, including those in the Broad CIRM Center for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research, and access to training programs such as PIBBS, NGP, HCN, and CSTP.
