We are seeking dedicated individuals to join us in educating the children at MSD. Location of Position
MSD, Frederick Campus, 101 Clarke Place, Frederick, MD 21705. Main Purpose of Job
To develop and implement a bilingual educational program for Deaf students in a language-accessible environment, providing an enriched bicultural setting to foster social and emotional growth. To create a language-rich environment using sign language and printed words to meet varied student needs. Position Duties
Assess and teach Deaf students, including implementing Maryland’s standards and developing IEPs. Create and maintain a conducive learning environment. Prepare weekly lesson plans based on assessments and data, using bilingual pedagogy and differentiated instruction. Design teaching materials, collect data, and develop IEPs with progress reports. Apply accommodations and aids in assessments, maintain grade books, portfolios, and lesson plans. Manage classroom behavior effectively, modeling appropriate behavior and promoting self-control. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required. Eligibility or willingness to obtain Maryland State Department of Education certification. Fluency in American Sign Language and written English. Knowledge of Deaf culture, Deaf Education, and teaching students with diverse needs. Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Education or Special Education for Deaf students. Maryland State Department of Education Certification. Special Requirements
Background check at own expense. Three letters of recommendation required. Selection Process
