Hartford Hospital is a Level 1 Trauma Center and home to the largest robotic surgery center in the Northeast and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI). The Hartford Hospital Public Safety department provides security services to the hospital community and maintains state certifications for its officers. The Manager of Public Safety leads and coordinates assigned operational activities for the Public Safety Department. This position focuses on core initiatives and operational capabilities including: security operations and protection of organizational assets; team development; shift scheduling; engagement and communications; service excellence with customers and external partners; continuous improvement; and regulatory compliance. This position requires specialized skills, knowledge, and subject matter expertise related to safety programs, public safety, security and criminal procedure, and emergency preparedness. Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate assigned operational activities for the Public Safety Department. Focus on security operations and protection of organizational assets. Develop and lead the team; manage shift scheduling and coverage. Engage with customers and external partners to ensure service excellence. Pursue continuous improvement and ensure regulatory compliance. Apply subject matter expertise in safety programs, public safety, and emergency preparedness. Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in related field or related experience required. Three (3) years of general experience in related fields required; five (5) years in hospital public safety or law enforcement preferred. Two (2) years of leadership experience required. Valid driver’s license required. Connecticut Guard Card required. We take great care of careers.
