Position Details
Position Title: Adjunct Faculty, Biology Position Number: 999927 Position Category / School/Division: School/Division Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences - Natural Science Department: Biology Full-Time or Part-Time: Part-Time
Responsibilities
Teach introductory biology lab courses and potentially upper-level lecture courses in ecology and evolution, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, physiology, and neurobiology. Be available for at least one to two hours of office hours per week. Attend weekly lab instructors’ meetings. Manage teaching load typically one or two courses per semester; maximum enrollment for a lab section is approximately 20 students.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in biology or closely related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior university teaching experience strongly preferred. PhD and teaching experience required for appointment at the Adjunct Assistant Professor or greater level.
