Regis College The Richard and Sheila Young School of Nursing is seeking applicants for adjunct teaching positions in the RN to BS completion program and graduate nursing programs. The Adjunct Lecturer will report to the Associate Dean of the Post-licensure and Graduate Nursing program and will work collaboratively with the Dean of Nursing, and Program Directors. Summary The Richard and Sheila Young School of Nursing is seeking applicants for adjunct teaching positions in the RN to BS completion program and graduate nursing programs. Essential Functions
Teach nursing students admitted at various entry points (for example, associate degree through doctoral) in a hybrid environment (In Person, Zoom Synchronous, or Asynchronous modality). Deliver teaching content in a setting that may include in person classroom or through an online modality via a Moodle learning management platform (didactic and/or practicum content). Problem-solve and provide course oversight while maintaining an ongoing, professional, clear, and consistent communication with students, Program Directors, Associate Dean or Assistant Dean in Nursing, and others as necessary through various modalities including electronic email, telephone calls, text messages or virtual meetings. Adhere to Regis College’s policy for faculty course presence, grading turnaround time, and student response time. Maintain and attend required office hours. Maintain expertise in both in person and online teaching methodologies. Complete end-of-course evaluations. Attend all Adjunct Faculty mandatory meetings called by Course Coordinator and others, as requested. Complete midterm and final grade reports in a timely manner. Provide students alternative learning experiences. Hold group meetings, drop-ins, and study groups for students as needed. Other Responsibilities
Monitor student participation in courses. Assist in connecting students with resources offered by the college. Qualifications
Doctoral Degree preferred (degree in process considered); master’s degree in nursing with Nurse Practitioner Certification needed if teaching within that program; CNE preferred and/or Online teaching course work preferred. Active and unencumbered RN license in Massachusetts needed prior to employment. Faculty must maintain an active RN licensure throughout their teaching role. Active APRN practice, if applicable, in-home state, for all NP specialty clinical/didactic courses if teaching within this program. RN license in Massachusetts is also required. Teaching Experience: Current experience with in person and online teaching preferred. Technology Experience: Microsoft Word and Excel; Zoom for conducting synchronous meetings; various learning management platforms; consistent and reliable internet access; reliable personal computer; consistent and reliable phone service. Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in noise, odors, etc. May spend extended periods at terminal, on telephone, or operating other office machines requiring eye-hand coordination and finger dexterity.
