Senior Contracting Officer
position with Alaska Energy Authority (AEA). Our Senior Contracting Officer manages and coordinates procurements for AEA from request to completion. Responsibilities include: administering contracts; preparing rate and cost adjustments; coordinating time extensions; incorporating change orders; issuing cure notices; signing letters; and terminating contracts when required. Monitors contract expiration and expenditure levels. For ongoing contracted services (such as banking services), proactively facilitates renewal to ensure a new contract is in place before the old one expires, minimizing the need for extensions. Requirements include: a Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field is strongly preferred; 5 years of experience in purchasing to demonstrate proficiency in soliciting competition, bidding, proposals, and contract resolution. Knowledge of construction procurement is necessary, and candidates must have or be able to obtain appropriate warrant certificates from the Alaska Department of Transportation and the Department of Administration. Certifications like CPM, CPSM, or CPPO are desirable but not required. This Position is Exempt and Not in the Classified Services:
