About The College/Unit/Department: The Department of Entomology includes 39 faculty, 60 graduate students, and offers diverse research and teaching opportunities. It is a multi-campus environment with access to research farms and collaboration opportunities across Georgia. Position Details: Classification Title: Assistant Professor Employment Type: 9-month, tenure-track faculty position Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Entomology or a related life sciences discipline. Position Summary: The role involves building a research program in quantitative insect ecology, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, and engaging in service and outreach. The research should be collaborative and multidisciplinary, focusing on solving emerging problems using modeling approaches. Preferred Requirements: Expertise in modeling at landscape, community, population, or genomic scales, including mathematical, statistical, computational, machine learning, or GIS-based modeling. Scholarly record demonstrated by publications or extramural funding. Postdoctoral experience and teaching experience are preferred. Responsibilities include research, teaching, and service, with an emphasis on quantitative modeling approaches.
