High School Chemistry Teachers

for the 2026-2027 school year at independent schools in the Greater Boston area.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver engaging and effective chemistry lessons for students at various levels (e.g., middle school, high school, or advanced courses).

Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles, including lectures, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and experiments.

Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments in alignment with the curriculum and educational standards.

Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Collaborate with other faculty members to create and refine curriculum materials, ensuring they meet the needs of the school’s educational goals.

Provide timely feedback to students on their progress, offering support and guidance to help them improve.

Advise students on college and career pathways, particularly in science-related fields.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field (master’s degree preferred for advanced courses or higher teaching roles).

Prior experience teaching chemistry at the middle or high school level, particularly in a private or independent school setting, is preferred.

Experience with advanced courses (e.g., AP Chemistry, IB Chemistry) may be a plus.

In-depth understanding of physics principles, theories, and concepts.

Proficiency in laboratory practices and safety protocols.

Ability to motivate and inspire students, encouraging their curiosity and passion for chemistry.

Skills in assessing and addressing diverse learning needs.

Familiarity with educational technology tools, learning management systems, and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning.

Ability to integrate technology effectively into chemistry instruction, such as through simulations, virtual labs, and multimedia presentations.
