Job Description Purpose Under the direction of the EHS manager, provide guidance on personnel EHS matters to employees and contractors. Exercise communication, training, and consultation skills to successfully implement programs, policies, and foster a positive safety culture. Responsible for developing, implementing, supporting, and maintaining specific environment, health, and safety (EHS) programs to ensure regulatory compliance and conformance with the company's EHS Management System. Create programs, policies, procedures, hazard assessments, and training materials for both manufacturing and R&D functions.
Responsibilities
Assist in developing and implementing strategic programs, plans, policies, and procedures to protect personnel, facilities, and the environment.
Interpret, communicate, and implement programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations, corporate standards, and OHSAS 18001.
Implement EHS programs and initiatives including hazard identification/risk assessment, high hazard control measures (Lockout Tagout, confined space, work permits, etc.), ergonomic analysis, contractor management, industrial hygiene, chemical safety, emergency preparedness, and injury investigations.
Develop and deliver EHS training on various safety topics such as hazard communication, contractor safety, and emergency response.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in an EHS-related field, Engineering, or Chemistry plus at least 3 years of EHS-related experience; or an Associate Degree with Advanced Safety Specialist Certification plus at least 8 years of EHS experience. Professional certification preferred.
Experience in implementing EHS regulations, incident investigations, regulatory interactions, and managing cross-functional teams.
Ability to develop practical standards and policies, technical expertise in EHS, and strong communication skills.
Effective project and program management skills, with the ability to build relationships and resolve conflicts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management.
