Position Summary:

The Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine’s Department of Cardiovascular Services is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have expertise in diagnosing and managing complex heart failure cases, including pre- and post-transplant care, mechanical circulatory support, and advanced therapies. This role is part of a growing academic cardiology program in a collegial, team-based environment. Faculty physicians have access to state-of-the-art facilities and strong institutional support for clinical and academic growth. Note: This position does not involve transplant or LVAD implantation, as these services are referred externally. The appointment is open at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on a clinical track, based on qualifications and interests. Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive care for patients with advanced heart failure, including those requiring mechanical circulatory support or transplant evaluation. Participate in developing and advancing the Advanced Heart Failure program, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Serve as attending physician at one primary site, with rotating coverage among two hospitals and satellite clinics. Participate in inpatient rounding every 6th weekend, with support from cardiology fellows (no year-round call). Teach and mentor general cardiology fellows, residents, and medical students in various settings. Engage in scholarly activities such as quality improvement, clinical research, and collaboration with Marshall’s translational and biomedical sciences programs. Additional Information: This position qualifies for J-1 visa sponsorship. Faculty are supported by an ACGME-approved cardiology fellowship and advanced cardiovascular imaging programs.
