The following statements of essential functions and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities. Actual duties may vary depending on building assignment and other factors determined with supervisor and/or building principal. Duties and Responsibilities

Use formal and informal assessment data about the student and environment to develop appropriate interventions and programs. Implement interventions to support the teaching process and maximize learning and adjustment. Screen and evaluate referred children, select appropriate instruments, administer tests, make observations, and write reports with evaluation findings and educational program recommendations. Identify and assess learning, development, and adjustment characteristics and needs of individuals and groups, and environmental factors affecting learning. Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team (MTSS) and the IEP committee, contributing evaluation findings and collaborating on the child’s educational plan. Provide direct services through various methods (e.g., individual counseling, group counseling, classroom presentations, co-teaching in general education, staff/parent in-services) as needed. Consult with parents, teachers, and other staff regarding the child’s program and any adaptations/materials needed to facilitate improved performance. Deliver a planned and coordinated program of psychological services. Develop and maintain appropriate records and reports related to students and interventions/programs. Assist in planning, development, and evaluation of programs to meet identified learning and adjustment needs. Participate in professional organizations, continuing education, and in-services to continually improve professional knowledge and skill. Develop and monitor behavior plans and implement positive behavior support strategies. Lead concussion management teams in each building. Collaborate with Ute Pass BOCES and BOCES staff to ensure appropriate educational services for students. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or building principals. Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care Knowledge of brain development and its importance to student learning Experience with Threat and Suicide Assessments Knowledge and experience with psychological diagnosis, treatment modalities, and psychotropic medications and their effects Awareness of symptoms of physical, emotional and mental abuse in children Tier II & III Academic and SEL interventions Suicide and threat assessment training Restorative Practices Strong written and verbal communication skills with all stakeholders Terms of Employment
