Position Description The College of Liberal Arts invites applicants for a Tenure-track assistant professor, specialty in Medieval Studies with preference given to the ability to teach early medieval literature. Successful applicant expected to demonstrate and maintain an active record of publication and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in area of specialization, including History of the English Language. Teaching assignment may also include General Education courses, such as composition and/or introductory literature surveys taught in a large lecture setting. Teaching load is 2/2 first two years, 3/3 thereafter. Appointment begins Fall 2026.

Required Qualifications

PhD in English or closely related field that meets accreditation requirements (18 graduate hours in English), with degree completed at time of appointment.

Specialization in Medieval literature.

Demonstrated teaching excellence.

Background and/or experience commensurate with the position of assistant professor and sufficient to teach graduate courses in Medieval Studies.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated ability in scholarly research on Medieval Studies.

Ability to teach early medieval literature.
