Serve the Sam Houston State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (SHSU-COM) in the Department of Primary Care and Clinical Medicine. Join as full-time Clinical Faculty reporting to the Chair of Primary Care and Clinical Medicine. Assist in development of clinical content for systems courses and clerkships. Participate in scholarship and research in the department; provide quality patient care; foster collaboration and interdisciplinary learning. Teach in systems courses, physical exam course, case-based learning, clinical clerkships, procedural skills training, OSCEs, and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine hands-on training where appropriate. Engage in preclinical and clinical education, and participate in curriculum and student assessment. Participate in SHSU faculty practice in the SHSU Physicians clinic where appropriate; may have part-time or full-time contracts for patient care with external practices. Qualifications

DO or MD from an Osteopathic or Allopathic medical school with residency training completed. Current AOA or ABMS board certification or board eligibility; current unrestricted Texas medical license or eligibility to obtain one. Preference for primary care with osteopathic manipulative medicine training; all specialties considered. If not licensed in Texas at start, must obtain unrestricted Texas license to commence employment. Experience & Skills

Clinical skills and well-developed communication skills. Background in medical education preferred; experience with pre-clinical and clinical teaching. Osteopathic manipulative medicine teaching preferred but not required. Salary and academic rank commensurate with experience and training. Other Requirements

Ability to communicate with faculty, medical students, clerkship coordinators, hospital administrators, physician preceptors, and college administration. Excellent written and verbal communication; initiative; ability to adapt in a rapidly changing environment. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and reporting preferred.
