General Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider- St. Paul

The Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute (AHMHI) was formed in 1981 with the goal of providing expert clinical care, educating both the public and health care professionals, and advancing the field of cardiology through research. Principle Responsibilities Completes comprehensive patient assessments. Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness. Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician. Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy, and medical equipment. Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care. Required Qualifications Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant Program Required. Preferred Qualifications New graduates may be considered. Minimum 2 years experience in cardiology or ICU. Licenses/Certifications Certification as a Physician Assistant - NCCPA - National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required or Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) - American Nurse Credentialing Center or (AANP) American Association for Nurse Practitioners required upon hire. Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire (NP candidates) Active MN NP/PA license (or ability to obtain). BLS certification required within 180 days of hire. Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI). Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for credentialing and hospital privileges. This is a 1.0 FTE position with 10-hour workdays, a mix of inpatient/outpatient care, and supports general cardiology patients.
