Assistant Coach, Boys Intermediate Volleyball - Athletics
Punahou Athletics seeks an Assistant Coach for the Boys Intermediate Volleyball Team. The role supports the head coach with organizing the sport within the Athletic Program, conducts practices, motivates students, and teaches game strategies and techniques. Ideal candidates have prior coaching experience in an educational setting, strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to demonstrate positional play, and a proven track record of coaching effectively. Work Year: 3 Months School Year: 2025-2026, Spring Season Work Hours: Monday - Friday late afternoons, and weekends Stipend Range*: $1,560 - $3,450 - Compensation is commensurate with qualifications Punahou School offers a comprehensive total rewards program that includes competitive pay. Pay for selected candidates will be determined by knowledge, skills, abilities, training and experience, and internal equity. Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Bachelor’s Degree preferred. One (1) year of positive and effective experience with a track record of leadership in a successful interscholastic program as a coach, or other related athletic experience. Background in teaching preferred, with experience working with adolescents. Knowledge of the value of athletics and competition at the intermediate and high school level. Substantial knowledge of the game as demonstrated through the development of comprehensive practice plans, offensive and defensive schemes, implementation of off-season expectations for student athletes, and the implementation of effective and contemporary teaching/coaching practices.
