Advance the Science:

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a practice area that is complementary to GSIs existing technical service offerings. Preferred environmental disciplines include (but are not limited to) engineering, hydrogeology, toxicology, water resources, groundwater modeling, air quality, risk assessment, and compliance. The candidate will be responsible for the professional, technical, and administrative activities of the company. Develop long-range plans; provide effective leadership; and develop and recommend corporate objectives, goals, and budgets. Negotiate critical and controversial issues with officers of other organizations and companies. Take responsibility for a large segment of the company in area of specialization. Directly supervises technical staff and plays major role in maintaining staff utilization.

Qualifications The successful candidate will have a strong track record of leadership and business development with the following qualifications:

Advanced degree in geosciences, engineering, toxicology, or related field.

15-20 years of work experience with heavy emphasis on environmental consulting for the private sector.

Professional licensure, such as Professional Engineer (PE), Professional Geoscientist (PG), Diplomate American Board of Toxicology (DABT) certification.

Direct experience with groundwater/soil/air contamination, contaminant fate and transport, and site investigation/remediation.

Litigation experience as a consulting and/or testifying expert.

Experience serving as a primary point of contact with clients and managing project teams and budgets.

Experience developing sampling plans for remedial investigations, constructing conceptual models, conducting data analysis and visualization, and preparing technical reports.

Ability to perform independent research and analysis.

Ability to work across geographies with experts in different offices.

Strong mentoring, professional development of staff, and recruiting skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Working knowledge of state and federal environmental cleanup regulations is preferred (e.g., TRRP, LPST Rules, and/or Railroad Commission of Texas Cleanup Rules, RCRA, and/or CERCLA).

40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred

Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, unless candidate qualifies for an exemption based on the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 or Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, where a reasonable accommodation may be granted if approved by GSI management upon hiring.

The base salary for this position will be determined by the candidate’s geographic location, education, relevant degree, related experience, and overall qualifications.

Salary range: $170,000 - $210,000 +
