Inside Higher Ed Description Computer Information Systems (CIS) Adjunct Salary:

Dean of Business & Technology Essential Functions

Prepare and teach a wide range of Information Technology courses in lab-based, lecture and online delivery formats, creating engaging teaching and learning environments that facilitate student success. Teach day, evening, or weekend classes as scheduled at any of the branch campuses. Program courses are currently offered in multiple modalities. Plan, develop and set up instructional classrooms, online environments, and labs. Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities. Utilize a variety of assessment activities to evaluate student learning and achievement. Stay current in the information technology field through professional development activities. Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or a related field; competence and experience in a wide range of information technology areas with expertise in at least one of the following areas: Interactive Web Design, Networking, Software Development, Support Software, or Security. Desirable Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Information Systems or a related field; successful college teaching experience; competency-based curriculum development experience; online teaching experience.

Communicate effectively in writing and orally; collaborate with faculty, staff, and students; integrate technology and the learning management system.

Additional Information

Terms of Employment:

This is an adjunct faculty position contracted on a quarterly basis. Salary is per quarter; benefits for adjuncts are limited. A collective bargaining agreement exists; this position is covered by the Association for Higher Education (AHE). Evening and/or weekend classes, instruction at satellite campuses, and travel to clinical sites may be part of the load. Adjuncts are eligible for benefits after meeting criteria; see details in the job posting. Conditions of Employment:
