Overview
Cook (Full Time) position at George Washington University, located at Shenkman Hall, 1918 F Street, NW, Washington, DC 20052. Online applications accepted only. Schedule: Full Time; shifts vary through weekdays and weekends. Prior culinary experience required. Pay range: $23.30 per hour to $24.30 per hour. Responsibilities
Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules. Serves meals or prepares for delivery using correct portioning; ensures food is at the proper temperature, attractive, and tasty. Tastes all prepared items. Uses established ticketing procedures during service; maintains records from the area worked during service periods. Maintains kitchen cleanliness; stores or discards excess food per safe handling procedures. Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and organized; stores food and supplies per standards. Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed. Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required. Assists in ordering and receiving all food and supplies; reports maintenance needs or accidents to the supervisor. Attends in-service and safety meetings; maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers. Performs duties safely in a clean, safe work environment; follows HACCP standards and proper presentation, portion control, and serving temperatures. Performs other duties as assigned; adheres to all company policies and procedures including proper glove use, oven mitts, slip-resistant shoes, and safe lifting techniques. Qualifications
