– join a fast-growing Accounting team. This position reports to the Accounting Manager, Core Business GL. Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers flexibility to buy now and pay later without hidden fees or compounding interest. We’re looking for a smart, driven individual to contribute to an efficient monthly/quarterly/annual close and financial reporting process. You should have strong attention to detail, the ability to deliver results under deadlines, and the capability to work effectively cross-functionally in a rapidly changing environment. Above all, you have problem solving and communication skills to support Affirm’s growth and mission to deliver honest financial products that improve lives. What You’ll Do
Support accounting period close for areas of functional responsibility, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis in the core business areas of capital markets Execute existing accounting and reporting controls and procedures during the monthly and quarterly close, including departmental close packages, financial reporting reconciliations, and support of financial reporting, analytics and efficiency metrics Support internal and external audit requirements related to specific assigned areas Proactively review current procedures and seek ways to improve processes to ensure timely monthly close, accuracy of accounting entries, and operational efficiency Perform research and make recommendations for complex accounting scenarios Assist in designing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring corporate accounting policies and procedures; assist in internal control and process documentation Conduct flux analyses and align on business drivers with cross-functional partners including Quantitative Markets, Capital Markets, Treasury and Strategic Finance Manage assigned projects and collaborate with cross-functional team members to deliver high quality, decision-ready information to business partners What We Look For
4+ years of relevant professional experience (private and/or public) with deep understanding of U.S. GAAP CPA preferred Excellent analytical and problem-solving, organizational and project management skills Strong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn new skills Initiative to implement improvements that simplify and enhance processes Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with team, management, peers, cross-functional groups and business partners Excellent time management and ability to prioritize and multi-task Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., vlookup, conditional statements, pivot tables, data analysis, data visualization, what-if analysis) Desire to improve processes and take ownership of the functional area NetSuite experience preferred Passion for Affirm and interest in technology, money movement, BNPL, and consumer lending Compensation and Benefits
Base Pay Grade
– G Equity Grade
– 3 Employees new to Affirm typically start at the low end of the pay range. Affirm provides a simple and transparent pay structure based on location, experience and job-related skills. Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and dependents). USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year:
$100,000 - $120,000 USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year:
$89,000 - $109,000 Please note
that visa sponsorship is not available for this position. Affirm is a remote-first company. The majority of roles are remote and you can work almost anywhere within the country of employment. Some roles may require occasional office work depending on responsibilities. Benefits
