Overview
The Housing Analyst manages a case load of no less than 350, but no more than 500 cases and performs advanced work in determining continued eligibility in assisted housing programs such as Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) or any other assisted-housing program. Responsibilities
Schedule up-dating interviews to acquire current documents and assure that tenant remains eligible for Housing Choice programs Interviews tenants to obtain information Assess employment, income, housing needs, assets, and criminal history to determine eligibility and level of housing assistance needed Interprets and applies complex federal, state, and local laws and regulations, program directives, and policies and procedures to determine level of benefits Explains program rules and procedures to tenants and service providers such as landlords Assesses tenant’s willingness and ability to comply with program mandates Identifies barriers to participation and takes appropriate action Monitors program participation to determine participant's compliance and takes appropriate action to ensure that participant fulfills their program obligation Works closely with landlords to ensure tenants and landlords are in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations Monitors reports of housing inspections Calculates rent by computing applicant income, deductions, and completing required forms Prepares correspondence and documentation for tenants and landlords Maintains case file and recertification forms Compiles Summary of Evidence and other documentation required for tenant appeals and hearings May assist with and represent East Baton Rouge Parish Housing Authority (EBRPHA) on tenant appeals and hearings Supervisory responsibilities
