Overview
WBL CPAs is looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Supervisor to join our team. This hybrid role focuses on reviewing tax returns and ensuring compliance with local and national regulations at every step of the filing process, promoting work/life integration and merit-based growth.
Responsibilities
Obtain information for preparing tax returns, protests, briefs, technical memoranda, reports, etc.
Review tax returns prepared by staff and prepare complex tax returns as necessary.
Supervise the preparation process and assist staff to resolve tax issues as they arise.
Inform management of progress on engagements and take timely action on technical, scheduling, and other problems.
Prepare performance reviews and participate in training other staff; provide timely feedback and direction.
Demonstrate working knowledge of the tax code and regulations; recognize non-routine tax problems and suggest solutions.
Communicate with clients, Internal Revenue Service representatives and others.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting, required
Three years of public accounting experience, required
Master in taxation/MAcc with tax focus, highly preferred
CPA preferred, but not required at this level
