We seek an experienced Senior Payroll Accountant responsible for managing all aspects of payroll for a designated employee group, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable laws. This role requires strong payroll knowledge, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Responsibilities
Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll, including calculations for hours, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions. Ensure timely and accurate payroll tax processing and reporting, including federal, state, and local taxes. Maintain employee records, including personnel files, timecards, and benefits information. Reconcile payroll-related journal entries and manage payroll tax reports such as 941, 940, W-2, W-3, and state unemployment reports. Address employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and conduct regular payroll data audits. Assist with year-end activities like W-2 processing and stay updated on payroll laws. Implement internal controls to safeguard payroll data and support special projects as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum 5 years of payroll processing experience. Deep knowledge of payroll laws and regulations. Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, BambooHR) and HRIS systems. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Preferred Skills
Professional certifications such as CPP or FPC. Experience managing multi-state payrolls and unionized environments. Benefits
