The Tax Senior Associate plays a critical role on the engagement team that is both internal and client facing. This role offers significant opportunity for leadership development and career advancement, with formal state & local tax training, on-the-job training, direct feedback from top tax leaders, and access to additional training resources. Responsibilities
Review and prepare complex multi-jurisdictional income/franchise tax returns Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Minimize review points by ensuring completeness and proactive issue resolution Lead project management of compliance and consulting engagements Resolve tax notices Manage communications with government agencies Serve as a trusted day-to-day point of contact for multiple clients Collaborate with management to identify and research complex client issues Engage in state and local tax audits and advocate for clients throughout the controversy process Prepare voluntary disclosure agreements, nexus studies, and taxability studies Supervise, train, and mentor Associates and Interns Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent Active CPA/EA license required or actively pursuing Active CMI certification, a plus 2-3+ years of experience, preferably in public accounting Proficiency with pass-through entities and C corporations related to state & local income/franchise tax matters Working knowledge of individual state and local tax matters (plus) Strong oral and written communication skills Experience with Microsoft Office Ability to perform technical tax research, summarize, and communicate findings Coaching and development skills for tax associates and interns Desire to give back to your community Note:
