The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) within our Investment Banking Division advises financial services companies on strategic transactions, capital raising, and market opportunities. Our
Specialty Finance vertical
focuses on non-bank financial institutions including consumer finance firms, commercial finance providers, marketplace lenders, leasing companies, structured finance vehicles, and fintech platforms. With a robust client base ranging from emerging disruptors to established industry leaders, our team delivers customized insights and solutions across M&A, equity and debt capital markets, strategic advisory, and balance sheet optimization.
Associates
are integral to driving these outcomes, contributing directly to high-profile deals that shape the financial services landscape. Key Responsibilities
Support the execution of M&A, IPO, debt/equity financing, and restructuring assignments Build and maintain financial models including valuation, DCF, LBO, and merger analyses Perform industry and company-specific research to support transaction pitches and execution Create client-ready presentations and other marketing materials with clarity and precision Collaborate cross-functionally with senior bankers, clients, legal, and accounting teams Manage junior analysts and contribute to their development through training and oversight Stay current on
Specialty Finance
market trends and regulatory changes impacting the sector Qualifications
2–5 years of investment banking or relevant financial services experience (e.g., private equity, consulting) Strong technical skills in Excel and PowerPoint; financial modeling proficiency required Exceptional analytical and quantitative abilities with attention to detail Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously Excellent communication skills and ability to distill complex financial concepts clearly Deep interest in the financial services industry, particularly in fintech, lending, and specialty finance Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CFA, or similar credentials a plus
