Accounting Manager, Real Estate Funds

Responsibilities
Direct multiple Fund Accounting teams responsible for providing accounting services for a broad array of clients, including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports.
Manage financial and human resources for the unit to ensure teams operate effectively to meet goals.
Oversee processes and resource allocation in determining the net asset value (NAV) for assigned funds across multiple sectors for each measurement cycle.
Manage relationships with clients, resolving escalated fund calculation and accounting issues.
Direct and prioritize processes that verify the completeness and accuracy of disclosures in financial statements.
Provide guidance to teams to ensure accounting records comply with departmental policies and procedures, resolving complex escalated issues.
Evaluate GAAP and IFRS rules to determine the impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon fund accounting practices and develop implementation strategies.
Set guidelines, policies, and priorities for drafting financial reports for clients to review fund performance, communicating complex accounting intricacies.
Recruit, direct, motivate, and develop staff to maximize contributions, professional growth, and teamwork.
Oversee relationships with auditors and clients to ensure accurate depiction of fund performance in financial reports.
Manage multiple Fund/Client Accounting teams primarily through subordinate managers and contribute to achieving multiple team objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
5-7 years of total work experience with at least 1-3 years in management preferred.
Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm preferred.
Compensation and Employment Terms Base salary for this position is expected to be between $102,000 and $210,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Final base salary will be determined on an individualized basis, including experience and market location, and is part of the total compensation package, which may include commissions, discretionary bonuses, short- and long-term incentive programs, and company-sponsored benefits.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as other discretionary compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, location, department/team performance, and market factors.
