We are seeking an accomplished and detail-oriented Vice President, Assistant Controller to join our Corporate Accounting team. This leader will play a critical role in managing the company’s global accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance functions. The VP, Assistant Controller will partner closely with the Chief Accounting Officer/Corporate Controller and finance leadership to ensure timely, accurate, and transparent financial information while driving process improvements, system enhancements, and accounting best practices. Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee global accounting operations, including the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes. Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal control frameworks (SOX). Manage consolidation of financial statements and preparation of external financial reports. Oversee technical accounting research and the implementation of new accounting standards. Collaborate with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and other functions to support business objectives and ensure alignment across finance. Lead the development, documentation, and enforcement of accounting policies and procedures. Drive automation, process improvement, and system optimization initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Manage relationships with external auditors and ensure smooth execution of annual audits and quarterly reviews. Provide coaching, leadership, and development opportunities for a high-performing accounting team. Support strategic initiatives, M&A activity, and special projects as assigned by the Controller and CFO. Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA required). Experience : 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles. Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and SOX/internal controls. Proven success in managing global consolidation, technical accounting, and external reporting. Public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) and public company experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment. Experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent) and financial consolidation tools. Skills & Competencies : Exceptional technical accounting expertise and financial acumen. Strong leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities. Excellent communication and executive presentation skills. Analytical mindset with the ability to balance detail orientation with strategic perspective. Change management and process improvement orientation.
