Overview
Trella Health is seeking a Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of our growing healthcare SaaS business. This role is responsible for timely and accurate financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and developing scalable processes to support rapid growth. The Controller will partner with leadership to drive financial insights, manage the accounting team, and ensure compliance with US GAAP. Location

CFO Responsibilities
Own the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Oversee revenue recognition under ASC 606, particularly for SaaS subscription models, professional services, and variable billing arrangements. Manage accounting operations, including general ledger, billing, accounts receivable/payable, payroll, tax compliance, and cash management. Develop and maintain scalable internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures that support a growth-stage SaaS company. Partner with FP&A to prepare budgets, forecasts, reporting, and variance analyses to guide business decision-making. Support strategic initiatives, such as new product launches, acquisitions, and system implementations. Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering professional growth and accountability. Lead the annual audit process and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial data integrity across systems. Identify process improvements, automation opportunities, and cost efficiencies. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred). 6–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience; SaaS industry experience preferred. Deep knowledge of GAAP, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and financial reporting for subscription-based businesses. Experience with financial systems (QuickBooks and Maxio preferred). Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a high-growth environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into business insights. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable presenting to executives and Board members. High integrity, judgment, and ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
