We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Services Specialist – Mexico to join our team at GoGlobal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing full sets of accounts in compliance with Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIFs) & IFRS (as required), and applicable tax regulations, performing bookkeeping entries in accordance with SAT electronic accounting obligations, generating analytical reports, and ensuring compliance with Mexican accounting and tax legislation. Additionally, they will provide mentorship to Associates, assist in internal audits, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
If you have a strong understanding of Mexican tax obligations (ISR, IVA, Retenciones, DIOT), experience with payroll-related accounting entries and CFDI issuance, and at least 3 years of relevant experience, we encourage you to apply.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Prepare and review full sets of accounts in compliance with NIFs and IFRS (where applicable).
Perform and review bookkeeping and accounting entries aligned with SAT electronic accounting (Contabilidad Electrónica – catálogo de cuentas, balanza de comprobación, pólizas).
Generate analytical reports and accounting schedules, scrutinize anomalies, and devise corrective actions.
Ensure accurate accounting of foreign exchange revaluations and intercompany transactions.
Review and ensure the accuracy of electronic accounting deliverables before submission to tax authorities.
Support preparation of the annual corporate income tax return (Declaración Anual ISR).
Liaise with tax and legal teams to ensure compliance with municipal, state, and federal regulations.
Assist with informative returns such as Declaración Informativa Múltiple (DIM) and ISSIF (for applicable taxpayers).
Reconcile payroll accounting entries and ensure compliance with IMSS, INFONAVIT, and SAR contributions.
Support the review and reconciliation of payroll CFDI issuance.
Coordinate with payroll team to ensure accurate filings of payroll tax (ISR retenido) and employer obligations.
Review and ensure the precision of the accounting deliverables and deliver them to the client within the agreed-upon timeline.
Provide mentorship and guidance to Associates while supervising the quality and deliverables of their work.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, policies, procedures, and controls.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding accounting matters and compliance requirements.
Explain procedures and control requirements according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Mexican tax calendar deadlines.
Provide guidance on accounting impacts of tax reforms, CFDI changes, and SAT regulatory updates.
Assist in internal audits and contribute to process improvements.
Contribute to and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify recurring issues or potential risks, suggest improvement opportunities, and contribute to project implementation.
Perform other ad hoc tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Active registration with Colegio de Contadores Públicos (CPA Mexico) preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of working experience in Mexican Finance and Accounting, preferably in BPO, shared services, or multinational environments.
Strong knowledge of NIFs, IFRS, and Mexican tax legislation.
Hands-on experience with SAT electronic accounting, CFDI issuance, DIOT, DIM, and ISR/IVA filings.
Familiarity with IMSS, INFONAVIT, SAR employer obligations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for reconciliations and reporting.
Strong analytical skills and ability to work with tight deadlines in accordance with Mexican fiscal calendar.
Spanish and English fluency required, Portuguese proficiency a plus.
Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, MBA in Finance/Accounting) considered an advantage.
