Overview

Tax Manager, Transaction Advisory Services (Special Projects) at BDO USA. This role is part of the Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) practice, focusing on deal structuring, due diligence, post-deal integration, tax attribute management, and opinions and ruling requests. The Tax Manager will help ensure engagements are executed timely, meet client expectations, and support the delivery of the national TAS strategy. Responsibilities

Serve as a member of multiple client engagement teams, participating in due diligence and structuring engagements related to transactions pursued by private equity and strategic corporate entities Identify and analyze tax risks and opportunities; advise strategic and private equity buyers and sellers on alternative tax strategies for acquisitions, dispositions, and restructurings Assist in reviewing and analyzing merger agreements and providing opinion letters Review and advise on tax computations reflected in financial models; assist in quantitative and qualitative analysis of tax data in transaction projections Manage risk and financial performance of engagements, including budgeting, billing, and collection Collaborate with and manage colleagues from BDO offices worldwide Develop and mentor subordinates to support career satisfaction and progression Other duties as required Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises staff on projects and engagements Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Bachelor’s degree required; major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Laws (LLM) with a focus on tax preferred Master’s degree in Accounting or Tax preferred Five (5) or more years of experience in professional services required; TAS experience (1+ year) preferred CPA certification, Attorney (admitted in the U.S.), Enrolled Agent (EA), or equivalent required; other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role preferred Strong Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills preferred Experience

Five or more years in professional services; TAS-specific experience preferred Licenses/Certifications

CPA certification, Attorney, or EA required; other applicable certifications preferred Software

Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Experience managing multiple client engagements and service teams Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to articulate complex information for crucial negotiation insights Self-motivated with the ability to work in a dynamic, time-sensitive environment Technical competence across multiple US federal, international, and state income tax disciplines Understanding of US GAAP accounting for income tax Experience with tax controversy and procedure Willingness to travel when necessary Additional Information
