Join the Crew Lander Structures team, where your work will be key to shaping the future of lunar exploration. Work directly with NASA and top partners from our national team, as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You'll take on the vital job of principal stress analysis for structures and lunar systems, helping us get back to the moon and support a lasting human presence beyond Earth. Relocation provided Travel expected up to 20% of the time Full Time Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Analysis of load path from conceptual to drawing release and hardware creation Analysis of primary and secondary spacecraft structures Integration of structural analysis with loads and dynamics environments Finite Element Model development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests Strength checks and analysis report generation Test and verification plan and report generation Support configuration development and trade studies Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering and 10+ years of experience with aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicle structures. Demonstrated high judgement. Ability to generate innovative solutions and understand the balance between engineering judgment and analysis rigor and when each is appropriate. Demonstrated mastery of structural static/dynamic fundamentals Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools) Experience with aircraft, spacecraft, launch vehicle, or automotive in some of the following areas:

External loads Vibro-acoustic analysis Thermal loads Analysis using Nastran, Ansys, Abaqus, LS-Dyna, or Optistruct

Preferred Qualifications:

Vehicle load path definition and strength analysis Analysis of metallic and/or composite structures (skin-stringer, fittings, sandwich panels, etc) Composite design and analysis skills in any thermoset, thermoplastic, metal matrix and ceramic matrix composites Manufacturing methods, material selection, testing, characterization & allowables development Experience testing materials, joints, components, and vehicles Structural optimization using standard industry codes (Optistruct, HyperSizer, Nastran Sol 200, Abaqus, Adams) Experience with ProEngineer Wildfire 4 / Creo Parametric or greater Experience with Human spaceflight Experience with composites Compensation Range:

WA applicants is $164,682.00-$230,554.80 Other site ranges may differ Benefits:
