Our client in Houston (Galleria area) is looking for a dynamic and service-driven

Relationship Banker

to join their retail banking team on a

contract-to-hire

basis. This role is an even mix of traditional banking transactions (50% Teller) and relationship management (50% Banker). The ideal candidate will provide exceptional in-branch service while also building strong customer relationships through proactive engagement. This position also includes some outbound calling to existing clients to deepen relationships and promote relevant financial solutions. Key Responsibilities: Split time evenly between front-line teller transactions and relationship banking responsibilities Perform routine banking functions including deposits, withdrawals, payments, and wire transfers with a high degree of accuracy and customer care Open new consumer and small business accounts, ensuring legal documentation and compliance requirements are met Proactively uncover customer needs through conversations and refer to appropriate banking solutions, products, or internal experts Conduct outbound calls to existing customers to check in, identify opportunities, and promote tailored banking solutions Develop and maintain strong product knowledge to assist customers with inquiries on accounts, digital tools, and financial services Educate customers on bank offerings including checking, savings, lending, digital banking, and small business solutions Support branch operations, including assisting management with daily duties and ensuring adherence to policies and regulatory compliance Participate in community events and local marketing efforts to build awareness and drive new customer acquisition Deliver an exceptional customer experience in every interaction, both in-person and over the phone Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in a retail banking environment, including teller operations and customer service Knowledge of consumer and small business banking products and services Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and problem-solve in a fast-paced setting Professional and confident phone communication skills; experience in outbound calling is a plus Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and general PC/Internet use Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms preferred Understanding of legal entity documentation a plus Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all tasks Team-oriented, customer-first mindset with a proactive approach to service Seniority level
