The Assistant Director – EAM will spearhead Asset Registration and Maintenance Planning requirements for all Metro-North departments. The position manages EAM Asset Specialists and EAM Maintenance Planners and plays a prominent role in the rollout of Enterprise Asset Management capabilities across Metro-North. The role liaises with Maintenance of Equipment (MofE) and Maintenance of Way (MofW) to update assets tracked in the EAM system and develop improved Maintenance Strategies based on data. This position will manage Hexagon loading of Maintenance Planning activities (scheduling, checklists) to meet stakeholder and FRA requirements. It will also drive the Hexagon environment asset data loading process. The role supervises the Asset Specialist and Maintenance Planner team to meet initial asset registration, maintenance planning requirements, and post-production lifecycle asset changes. Duties And Responsibilities

Keep MNR Assets up to date, superseding paper records and standalone databases, and maintain integration between GIS (Esri), Bentley Linear Analytics, and Hexagon EAM systems. Develop the Asset Information System for MofW Infrastructure Assets to monitor, report, and analyze information for existing and new assets (renewals, modifications, inspections, actions, work history, condition and performance, failure analysis, tracking). Develop asset information strategies and hierarchies defining information specifications, knowledge standards, data quality assurance. Plan and oversee Asset Management Plans and Reliability Based Maintenance strategies for Track, GCT, Structures, Signal, Power, Communications, Facilities, and Fleet. Develop asset-specific Condition Assessment Methodologies to measure and assess asset condition, performance, SOGR, and residual life. Develop asset-specific prioritization methods integrating condition data, criticality, and risk of failure to improve budgeting and forecasting. Develop new business processes to support Asset Management and the introduction of new technologies; establish processes for asset registration, condition assessment, and reporting of work performed. Manage Asset Data cleansing and data loading into Hexagon EAM. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of infrastructure maintenance programs for railroad operations. Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication; ability to motivate people. Strong computer skills with Windows applications (Excel, Access) and a good understanding of Asset Management databases. Knowledge of rail operations, sensitivity to customer needs, and sensitivity to impacts of erroneous data and reporting on public perception. The Following Is/are Preferred

Knowledge of asset management concepts (level of service, condition assessment, performance monitoring, Cycle Based Maintenance, Reliability Based Maintenance). Working knowledge of PAS 55 asset management standards. Experience with Hexagon EAM, ESRI GIS, and Bentley AssetWise or similar systems. Experience with organizational change planning and development of processes, roles, responsibilities, and professional development. Knowledge of MofW/MofE departments and related principles. Required Education And Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Management or related field; demonstrated equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Enterprise Asset Management or database management, with data strategies, BI, and Systems Analysis; process and procedure development and implementation. Minimum 3 years supervisory experience. The Following Is/are Preferred

Experience with EAM/ERP or other Enterprise Asset Systems. Master’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field. Transit knowledge, particularly with a commuter railroad. Experience with KPI development, forecasting, trend analysis, and dashboards; knowledge of Hexagon EAM and ESRI GIS. Benefits
